Gladstone Consulting Principal Gary Gladstone with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

On March 22, 2016, the first Liberal budget – Budget2016 – in almost a decade was tabled by Finance Minister Bill Morneau. The budget was wide-ranging and held to the Liberal campaign platform of strengthening the middle class with economic growth, investments in infrastructure and a revamped benefit helping Canadian families. Gladstone Consulting has worked with its associates and partners to review the details of Budget 2016, with focus on benefits and opportunities for charities and non-profits. Contact Gladstone Consulting to help identify new revenue and fundraising opportunities.

Budget2016 included several beneficial changes including two GST/HST related measures reducing sales tax burdens and to allow all registered charities to invest in limited partnerships. Gladstone Consulting will assist in identifying opportunities to implement these sales and excise tax changes to improve your organization’s bottom line.

The Federal Government has committed to infrastructure spending for education, arts, culture, low-income housing and Aboriginal communities.  These areas offer opportunities for organizations in those areas.

Budget2016 has provided new fundraising opportunities for charities and non-profits, in addition to existing federal and provincial grant and benefit programs such as Celebrate Canada, the Ontario Trillium Foundation, and Canadian Heritage Programs. Gladstone Consulting brings years of successful experience to fundraising programs for charities and non-profits, including grant writing, event management, capital campaigns, with deep experience with governmental (i.e. Trillium) and non-governmental grants.
